When I be out till qurter to three, would you lock the door ? Will still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty-four ? You'll be older too, and if you say thae word, I could stay wiyh you. I could be handy mending a fuse, whwn your light have gone. You can knit a sweater by a fireside, Sunday morning go for a ride, Doing the darden digging the weeds, who could ask for more ? Every Summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight,if it's not too dear, We shall scrimp and save, grandchildren on your knee, Vera, Chuck, and Dave. （ま、６４歳になっても 夜中の３時前まで出かけてるかね？ と云う突っ込みがないでもないですが・・？) ご存じの通り この歌は、1967年にリリースされ大ヒットした "Sergent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" に収録されていて、当時 弟が持っていたレコードで、よく聴いたものでした。 ちなみに、ビートルズの歌は数多くあり、世界中に熱烈なファンも多いのに、小生の好きなのは「イエスタデイ」「ミッシェル」位のもので、ビートルズを語る資格は無いと自覚しているのですが、ま、この歌だけについては、かなり気に入っていると云う事で、ひと言・・。 実は、２年ほど前の浜寺テニス同好会の忘年会で、これを歌ったところ、ある人から「覚えたいから もう一度」とアンコールされた事もありました。案外知らない人もいる様なので、ご紹介する次第です。 |
